How it all works:

Weekly meetings where members plan projects, get to know each other, learn new skills, and participate in games and activities.

  • Tuesdays at Deep Run High School (4801 Twin Hickory Rd., Glen Allen) from 4:30-6:00 p.m.
  • Thursdays at Sycamore Presbyterian Church (510 Coalfield Rd., Midlothian) from 4:30-6:00 p.m.

Service-Learning Projects are completed every 4-6 weeks. All projects are chosen by the members and are based on needs in the community. Past projects include a book drive for the Virginia Home for Boys and Girls, a Holiday Store at a local nursing home, and sending care packages to the troops overseas.

Reflection is the process that happens after a project is complete. The members discuss the impact of the project on themselves and on the community. They also make an item to help remember the project; items they have made include a story book, a totem pole, and a large banner.

Celebrations are the FUN at the end of all the hard work. The group decides how to celebrate after each project which have included ice skating, a cookout, a movie night, and bowling.

Because of the growing needs of the community, we are always looking for new members to join.  This is a great way to meet new friends and earn community service hours.  Also, we would love to hear about your ideas of how the community could use our help.
