Camp Easter Seals Rentals

Bluejay - the original cabin.Since 1957, Camp Easter Seals has provided quality recreation programs for people with disabilities.  To help in supporting this mission, we make our beautiful facilities available to groups for off-season rentals.

 Past rental groups include:

  • Corporations
  • Church groups on retreat
  • Youth groups
  • Family reunions
  • Fraternities/sororities
  • Service clubs
  • Scout groups
  • And many other

Spread over 57 peaceful acres, groups will have the opportunity to participate in activities such as:

  • Canoeing - one hour trip on Craig Creek available through Camp Easter Seals
  • Outdoor camping and cooking - three campfire sites can accomodate a multitude of tents
  • Climbing Wall - a great wall for beginners!
  • Fishing - fish in our pond or for trout in Craig Creek
  • Hiking - enjoy our hiking trails for beginners to moderate hikers
  • Campfires (mmm...smores)
  • Indoor gym
  • Accessible swimming pool 

Or within a half-hour drive visit:

  • McAfee Knob - a moderate hike that leads to one of the Appalachain Trails most picturesque views
  • Dragon's Tooth - a moderate to difficult hike on the beautiful Appalachain Trail
  • Roaring Fun - a neat and easy hike and biking trail which offers some great wildflowers int he spring and cascades after a good rain
  • Fenwick Mines - old mine with some easy hikes and bikes
  • Dragon's Back - a popular and challenging biking trail

Or you can simply sit back and enjoy the peaceful sunset view over the Blue Ridge Mountains.  Close by in Roanoke you can go shopping, take in a movie, buy some great food and local artisan works at the historic farmers' market or enjoy a local restaurant.

Camp Easter Seals is happy to provide meal services if desired.  We offer a full menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a variety of selections from which you choose.

Are you looking for a location for your next company team building, church retreat, family reunion or program site? Camp Easter Seals, located in New Castle, Virginia (near Roanoke) may be just the place.

Rental Fees:
Deposit: 25% of the total rental fee is required at the time of reservation to secure space.

 

Lodging:

*Tents: $8/person per night
          (bring your own tent)

*Cabins: $12/person per night
          -Small cabins sleep up to 10
          -Large cabins sleep up to 20
          -Each cabin has bunk-style lodging with a  
           shared bathroom and a fireplace

*Dormitory Building: $20/person per night
          -Dormitory has 10 individual rooms with 4 bunks
           per room, which can be converted to
           side-by-side bedding.
          -Each set of 5 rooms share a bathroom
          -Building also had a fully equipped kitchen
           with: seating for 20, stove, microwave and
           refrigerator
          -Laundry room
          -Lounge area containing couches, chairs,
           fireplace, DVD, VCR, games, books & movies

Linens:

*Linen sets: $5/person
          includes pillow, sheets & blanket

Meal Services:

*$5/person per meal
          (20 person minimum required)

Day Use Only:

*Picnic Shelter: $100
          (capacity = 125)
          Shelter has grill and elctricity

*Dining Hall/Conference Room: $100
          (capacity = 150-200)
          Hall has DVD projector & screen

*Small Meeting Room: $60
          (capacity = 10-15)

Recreation Hall/Gymnasium: $100

Kitchen Use:
(for groups not purchasing meal service)

*Industrial Kitchen: $100/day
*Dormitory Kitchen: $50/day

 

Activities:

*Swimming Pool:
          (open late May - early September)
          -$25/hour if providing own certified lifeguard
          -$35/hour if using Easter Seals lifeguard

*Climbing Tower:
          -$15/person ($120 minimum per group)

*Canoeing:
          -Canoe Rental: $5/canoe (includes PFD &
           paddles)
          -Canoe Shuttle: $15/group of 8

Open Access:

*Tennis         
          -bring own rackets/balls
*Playground
*Pond Fishing
          -bring own poles
*Creek Fishing
          -license required (5 day license can
           be obtained locally)
*Hiking
*Game Room
*Outdoor Theater
